Watching this after Phantom Thread is an absolute trip.
Pretty much a perfect setup. Vicky Krieps phenomenal facial control in her first scene kind of told me what the rest of the story would be about. From there it was sort of like watching a mental checklist. If anything saves it for me it's the perfect score, especially during the end of the second act.
This was my first Malik film and after just 30 minutes I could feel my taste change again completely.
(This next bit isn't related to the film but I've decided to set up a timeline of times my movie taste has changed and I went on director binges just because I'm curious. I'm going to rewatch this film and give it a real review because it absolutely deserves it.)
