Another Plaza 35mm showing. My brain is still a bit fried from watching this, my first Jodorowsky and I was woefully unprepared. As a purely visual experience, I found it incredibly compelling, but I'm still not sure what kind of sincere meaning (if any) can be extracted from this. Some of the imagery is painfully on the nose, some of it is borderline incomprehensible, and some of it feels like it is reaching too hard for something superficially 'profound', but all of it is incredible to watch. I don't know what to think, very conflicted, very glad to have watched it. The one thing I am confident in saying is that the chimpanzee Chucho-Chucho is the best actor here by far.
