James Wan is such an enigma to me.
Hes *clearly* a talented filmmaker that knows what he wants, and a savvy producer that knows what audiences want. He directed one of the best F&F movies and his success creating several lucrative cinematic dynasties certainly speaks for itself….
…But I just don’t like his movies?
There’s always some impressive cinematography & a few twists n scares that made me nod in appreciation. But that’s kinda it. For the life of me I don’t get why his original movies always spawn these massive franchises that seem to branch out infinitely. I guarantee were headed towards 3 Malignant sequels, 2 prequels, a reboot & a go-to Halloween costume all within the decade. I’m watching Aquaman Tuesday so maybe I’ll love that and see what everyone else does then? I dunno.
Ps everyone only mentioning Professor Quirrell is forgetting about this guy.
