EDIT ( 21/09/22 ):
a couple years have passed and i've been informed about both the context in which the film was born into and the meaning of the metaphores in it.
i have changed my mind as a result, i now feel i like the film way more even though some artistic choices still leave a weird taste in my mouth (the excrement alchemy & mountain groping scenes still make my eyes roll)... and jodorowsky is a fucking creep apparently?! yeah.
