J. J. Wright’s review published on Letterboxd:
Quite a strange one. Often felt like it existed on some cultural wavelength to which I am not attuned, though I did enjoy it and find it absorbing and well-made. Can't imagine how hard it was for the leads to turn in performances like these, made up like that. If its ultimate message about identity is somewhat more simple than it seems, I don't think it harms the film overmuch. It's still some peak, weird, cringy stuff that mixes and matches its tones and stories about as well as could be.
