J. J. Wright’s review published on Letterboxd:
Gonna need to take another run at this, and I HOPE that comes on the big screen, because I had a tough go of it at home and it was not in the least the movie's fault. I was distracted and eventually fell asleep on my first attempt the other night, then had to leave before I finished it when I resumed this morning, and finally watched the end this evening. So, I've "seen" it, but haven't SEEN it, I think, so no rating right now.
I loved what I did see, though, and I know it's a cliche to say of a well-shot film that "every frame could be a still photograph," buuuut it's 100% true here. I can't even with this cinematography and composition. And Aparicio completely deserves all the love she's getting for being at the center of this. So good. I only hope that I feel everything more intensely when I do the whole film in one go.
