A buddy movie that’s so ridiculous it’s great. Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe are the ultimate duo, and Gosling is absolutely hilarious here. A mystery-crime-thriller-comedy with a plot so simple, but the film cleverly finds ways to make the story more complex than it actually is through it’s masterful stupidity. Set in the 70’s and shot beautifully, with some awesome cinematography, this bad boy is an instant classic. There’s nothing wrong with a bit of silly and completely over-the-top humour from time to time, and I’m happy to say that this film made me laugh my ass off. Isn’t that what comedies are supposed to do?
