  Please go see this in the cinema.

  I was initially worried that the one-take style would feel gimmicky and tiresome after a while but 1917 is using this technique to it's fullest advantage. I think it made a significant contribution to what Sam Mendes was trying to say with this film.
  The combined efforts of the masterful cinematography from Deakins and production design by Gassner & Sandales made the film for me.
  A technical masterpiece? Absolutely. I just wish the story-telling…
