I, Tonya

I, Tonya ★★★★½

Putting up this super late commentary on I, Tonya because I seem to forget how this film impacted me a few weeks later I've watched it.

At first, I gave this film a neat four stars. However, looking back, I might even consider this as one of my favourite movies ever! So, obviously, I am altering my rating to a delightful ☆☆☆☆☆ stars!

Just days after being immersed in this mockumentary of former American figure skater and the only American to complete the triple axel in the Olympic figure skating arena, Tonya Harding, I found myself watching tons and tons of her old ice skating videos. Believe it or not, this has been my habit every dawn for around a week so, and it even prompted me to binge-watch figure skating videos and Olympic related videos! Jesus, she just interested me so much that I now consider her as my favourite athlete of all time! Every single time I see that gush of success on her face after she landed the triple axel, I always get goose-bumps. She is amazing. Periodt.

I honestly still believe that taking away what she calls her life- ice skating- is too far fetched. She had nothing to cling on at that time and the only solace she found comfort in was snatched away from her in just a jiffy. That was just straight-up cruel.

Anyhoo, I'm just gonna end this here. Margot Robbie did a really really great job even though Amy Adams better fitted Tonya's physical characteristics. Go watch this movie now!
