Logan Kenny’s review published on Letterboxd:
a movie about that time in a relationship when nothing you say can easily heal the wounds you've caused before, where the silences and secrets have built up and made communication impossible. it reminds me of the time in past partnerships where we were on borrowed time and anything slightly confrontational about our place together lead to either unbearable silence or intense arguments. it feels like you're watching your own relationship implode in front of your eyes. the only major difference is that Linklater's too much of an optimist to end with the decline, even when the future seems inevitable, he still leaves you with that little bit of hope that tomorrow will be easier, the dream that love can be enough when the sun rises.
