"Not right is a long way gone."

    Pros:
    - This is a nice, tight Scottish thriller with little fat on the bone. It is a simple story with a believable plot. Once the situation kicks off, the tension is always gnawing. There isn't any moment of peace until the credits, and even then you are left unsure if peace will be true. While there aren't any twists, I do think this is a film well worth going in blind and…

"I want to introduce you to Mother."

I'd hate to be the one to have to clean up that house. I say burn it down and let Satan sort through the ashes. This is pretty much Indonesian Chainsaw Massacre, but only better because it doesn't have fucking Franklin. This is an early effort of Timo Tjahjanto teamed up with Kimo Stamboel, and it shows. It's rawer and more unpolished than future movies, but you see their talent shining through and…

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania 2023

Soulless movie. It felt like a George Lucas-esque Star Wars prequal with 95% CGI settings, ridiculous expendable random humanoid creatures running around and very cliched wooden dialogue. This didn’t feel like an Ant Man movie to me. Extremely hollow with a so much backstory exposition that bored me to tears.

Johnathon Majors, while I appreciate him trying something different for the bad guy, was immensely lacking in so many factors to be a standout villain. The laid-back tactical approach wasn’t…

    ★★★ Watched by Ariane Bélisle 23 May 2023 2

I was really intrigued by Lamb, the reason being I’m terrified of sheep. My skin crawled within the first minutes and I truly expected the worst. As it went on, I realized grief was the main theme and I could only sympathize with the family. I particularly like the minimalist approach, scenery and Noomi Rapace’s performance. I thought this would go on a completely different path… until the ending came… I was shook!

    Blind sharks? Yes please!
No way this only has an average of 2.2! I know the CGI is not the best, but it’s far better than A LOT of shark movies nowadays. I remember the first time watching this on my laptop with headphones on… I jumped and screamed so many times HAHA.
Sophie Nélisse (Yes, Canadian queen!) is great.

Fun fact: Corinne Foxx (playing Sasha) is Jamie Foxx’s daughter and Sistine Stallone (playing Nicole) is Sylvester Stallone’s daughter!

★★★ Watched by 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗪𝗼𝗼𝗸 28 May 2023

Extraction does a pretty damn good job with its action and stunt choreography but leaves little to be desired in terms of story. There is one scene in particular that is really impressive but besides that, its a pretty bland shoot em up, john wick style (don’t get me wrong, it’s no john wick) flick that doesn’t have much else to offer. Chris Hemsworth can for sure be an action star if he wants I will say that and I am looking forward to the new one of course because above all else, I just love movies.

Hey kids! How you boys doin'?
It was about time to travel to South Korea and revisit this banger of a dark comedy.

Kitaek's family has it tough, literally living at the bottom of society. When they sniff an opportunity at a better life they infiltrate a rich family but soon the viewer is confronted with the question who the real parasites are.

This film is simply fantastic. The writing is smart and so funny.
    Great performances, a nice score…

Nostalgia is so powerful, cause when I heard that Mario theme I was immediately sent back. This was so much fun. I think they did a great job adding elements of the game. The story was good enough to keep you engaged. All the voice actors were good but Jack Black as Bowser was amazing. Great soundtrack too.
    Solid.

    Well, hi there.
I was really in the mood for a Sci-Fi Horror and I remembered that this was still on my watchlist - so, let's travel 7 miles or 11.26 km below the surface to the Kepler Station. It's struck by an earthquake so the crew has to navigate their way to safety. But someone or something is after them..

Oh, Kristen Stewart in another Sci-Fi Horror are all my dreams come true, lord knows why I haven't seen…

★★★½ Watched by Surya | Screen Savor 28 May 2023

What truly captivated me about "The Hunger Games" was the deliberate pacing the filmmakers employed, allowing a full hour to establish the dystopian world, provide rich exposition, foster a connection with the characters, and understand their motivations. By taking this time to build dynamics between the players, once the deadly survival game commenced and Katniss stepped into the arena, I found myself instantly rooting for her. The tension in the atmosphere was palpable, causing me to sit on the edge…

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 2013

    Surya | Screen Savor

★★★★ Watched by Surya | Screen Savor 29 May 2023

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire delivers an enthralling cinematic experience that undoubtedly surpasses its predecessor as one of those sequels that excels. It adeptly continues the narrative from the previous film, crafting a compelling premise. Just like its predecessor, it takes its time, spanning over an hour to delve into the training phase and another 20 minutes to enter the game, yet this deliberate pacing is crucial in showcasing the brewing unrest in the other districts and the president's recognition…
