A strange mishmash of gorgeous visuals and terrible editing, cool thematic elements with stupid payoffs, and stilted performances that add to the chilling tone but are also completely unnecessary. Surprisingly, the one thing that worked for me across the board is the script, even if I unintentionally undercut all the tension by cracking jokes throughout. Needless to say, I bought retinol as soon as the credits rolled.
