Second viewing (both of which are this year).
I’m still taken aback by how masterful and impressive McQueen’s feature is, as well as with Fassbender’s absolutely breathtaking acting.
Harry Escott’s score is phenomenally sentimental, deeply emotive, and evoking, all at the same time, adding such a massive layer of visceral emotion to the film.
SHAME is just a masterpiece in every regard, from its sentimentally emotive score by Harry Escott, to its brilliant direction by Steve McQueen, to one of the decade’s best performances with Fassbender’s awe-strucking performance. Masterful in every way.
Still so hard to describe how good this is.
