King Kong

King Kong ★★★★

For most of this I kind of felt indifferent and fairly uninvolved in the action and story, which as to be expected from a film from this period is quite campy and over the top with lots of screaming, though that can be entertaining in itself

So I guess it’s more my problem than anything to do with the film and what it was going for, which I guess I blame on all the art films I’ve watched since a child

It’s without a doubt a solid and classic work of adventure/fantasy film and holds up amazingly well by today’s standards, particularly the stop-animation which from what I can gather was pretty groundbreaking for the time

The moral to be learnt from King Kong is to respect nature and return to monke
