I don't think I've ever quite seen a film like this, but the first quarter of the film is like Frankenstein X The Elephant Man, only in Lanthimos' inimitable style. The colours pop off the screen, especially when contrasted with the black-and-white scheme inside Victorian London, the costume and set designs are magnificent and this may be the best comedy in a standout year for movies.
