haven't seen this in like six or seven years and was horrified by how much of a terrorizer it is. never realized !! lena dunham sees something really desolate beneath the skin and then lets it bleed out for 90 minutes of silent death storm. i can still hear the ticking

  • Sledgehammer

genuinely loved whenever the camera just seemed to stop and thus incidentally made me feel like nothing and everything was real. gives you the rush of existence with a nice foreground of bodybuilders in sadistic scenes of torture, honest videography, people really trying to make art

Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time

evangelion rebuilt and rephilosophized until it breaks and shatters and reiterates itself in an essential new form: understanding the pain of codependency and feeling, forging it into an exuberant lust for life where every human you've ever know has always been a part of you and will be forever. abandon escapism because the fantasy is in the beautiful world. all the pain and dejection and tragedy surmounts into a glistening climax of the will to live + forgiveness + passage + the most innovative use of cgi, franchiseism and postmodern storytelling in recent memory. it will probably end up a favorite movie. i love evangelion. さようなら

an arena of scarecrows to throw water balloons at. every line is a pithy tweet by a sixteen year old (epic girl boss PWNAGE!) and tonally reprehensible, super sterile, no schlock or wit or risk save for one minor and lightly gutsy twist. every character speaks like they are an enormous paintbrush illustrating a sign to the theme. the soundtrack bastardizes sky ferreira and charli xcx. there is not one emotion to be felt. it sucks and carey's performance is just okay
