I've only seen it once and I can already tell you this is the perfect character study. Also the saddest and maybe one of the most disturbing movies I've ever watched. I don't have much personal connection to the events of the story, but it somehow still managed to hit me like a sack of bricks. The screenplay, acting, and direction worked so well together to paint a picture of this little town and this little family. This and Inside Llewyn Davis both manage to capture depression so well... I'd probably do a double feature if I thought I could survive that. Long story short, this movie was amazing. But really, this and Grave of the Fireflies in the same month? Why am I doing this to myself
But hey, that kid was in Moonrise Kingdom! That's the girl from Moonrise Kingdom! Moonrise Kingdom! That's a nice movie...
How to wrap this up? That was good. That was depressing. I'm an emotional wreck! Good night/morning, world!
