Super conflicted on this remake of Suspiria so I'm going to leave it unrated for now. Definitely has some mesmerizing sequences but I don't think the whole picture actually works for me.
I just didn't understand the themes / thought the theme choice was bizarre for the story being told? So much of the elderly doctor's story felt like it could be in a different film, and not one about dance academy witches.
And you can't call this a 70s throwback horror just by "quickly" zooming the camera like four times. This doesn't feel like a 70s horror at all, in my opinion.
