Scavenger Hunt 50 #28. Watch a coming of age film with a female protagonist
There's a lot that doesn't work about this version for me, most notably June Allison's Peter Pan-like Jo, who's bringing a childlike giddy energy that's hard to take seriously. Liz Taylor makes a good Amy, even if seeing her blond is profoundly weird. While this version mostly didn't do much for me, dang if Beth falling ill didn't have me sniffling. Nice work by Margaret O'Brien there. As in pretty much every version of Meg, Janet Leigh is a bland, inoffensive presence.
