We don't really see movies like Shazam! anymore. At first glance, this might seem like a ridiculous claim (given the over-saturation of the sub-genre over the past few years), but I see it as something else.
David F. Sandberg has crafted a kind, charming little fable, full of good morals and a big heart. In an age of very cynical blockbuster entertainment, the film feels like a product of time somewhat in the distance.
