Austin Lord’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is like nothing Martin Scorsese has ever done, and I wish he did more of these absurd, Kafkaesque films because this one was really incredible. The film plays out like a bad trip, or even a nightmare. One where you have a definitive goal in mind, but no matter how hard you try, something is always preventing you from reaching that goal. It gets quite surreal at points, and sometimes scary, but the ride this film takes you on is like nothing else. Additionally it sort of plays out as a critique of the mundanity of careers, which leads me to believe that this is sort of like if Luis Buñuel's films had a lot more energy. A really wild ride, and probably my new favorite Scorsese.
