Suspiria

Suspiria ★★★★★

Stands beautifully alongside Argento's original. Not better. Not worse. But certainly perfect in its daring originality, cogent and timely thematic analyses of feminism, guilt, and the socio-political ramifications of fascism, and the scope of its brutality. I do not believe its reluctance to blatantly connect the dots of its strands is indicative of pretension and incoherence, as many of Suspiria's detractors claim, but rather, considering our current political climate all around the world, an invitation to a critical thinking audience, to acknowledge the obvious parallels, and set about on a path of change.
