TéléDex’s review published on Letterboxd:
Film #1 of the "Gor, That Was A Bit Too Hard!" Scavenger Hunt 24 challenge
Task #1: A movie that Roger Ebert loved, but yet you still haven't seen it.
How can I start this review politely? I watched the 2005 version first. I watched that long slug for 3 hours, and quite thankfully, there was loads of emotions I couldn't dream of here, and it didn't happen here. The animation is almost top marks, even the humans who are picked up, are realistic enough to be enjoyed. But some of the reactions on this film are a bit outdated, even though I could compare this to Harambe. It's another case unfortunately of The Thief of Baghdad, where I can say that the visuals are top marks for the time, I can't give my best mark because the rest of the film is a shell for the animation, and I've enjoyed more animation like this before elsewhere. Sorry.
