When it comes to directorial debuts, I feel I often like them more than most people. Seeing how it all started is so fascinating to me, and this is definitely no exception.

Obviously there are flaws, that’s to be expected, but for the most part this is pretty great. I’m not the biggest fan when it comes to Bong Joon-Ho but I honestly enjoyed this film a lot.

Obviously this film is visually stunning, Kurosawa definitely knew how to shoot a film and it shows. Tatsuya Nakadai is great, as always, and makes the most with everything he’s given but personally I just couldn’t get into this as much as something like Ran which the final battle in this film reminds me of a lot.

It’s definitely good, I just feel like Kurosawa and Nakadai have made films that are a lot better than this.

In the past few months I have watched a lot of films, and this was definitely one of them.

It just gets crazier and crazier and weirder and weirder but at the same time I liked it? Immediately after Tina Turner turns into some kind of heroin robot, both Cousin Kevin and Uncle Ernie have their... “fun” with Tommy, but it is presented is a kind of enjoyable way?

Some musical numbers I feel are a bit too long, but then again, The Who are literally THE GUYS when it comes to long songs.

Wes Anderson is not a filmmaker whose work I enjoy. I find his comedy unfunny, colours as being too bright and underdeveloped characters annoying.

That being said, I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would. There are still a lot of flaws, plot lines never going nowhere and a LOT of unnecessary and terrible CGI ect, but i’m willing to look past all of that.

This film made me laugh like 3 times which is more than…
