the best word to describe this movie is beautiful. i couldn’t help smiling at every frame sean baker has created magic using all those bright colors and wonderful environments. we’re shown a world through the eyes of innocent children which was a welcome change and a unique experience. there really isn’t a structured plot but this movie reminded me that sometimes it’s okay to just get lost in the landscapes and characters and just go on a fun trip, i feel like baker just told the kids to enjoy themselves and all he did was record. but, under all that harmlessness, one could see the cracks as they were portrayed so slightly yet they are extremely important.
this film deserves a higher rating but i just couldn’t find myself that invested in the story until the very end, maybe that’ll change later on.
