my first lynch. i always shied away from the guy cause he creeped me out and his thoughts on film didn’t sit well with me but holy hell is he talented you’re all right. this is one of the weirdest movies i’ve ever seen but it revels in its weirdness, it’s so captivating and atmospheric lynch is so obviously unique and talented i can’t wait to check out his other stuff.
nice cage is an absolute madman his performance here might just be one of my favorites ever i’ve never seen a man smoke three cigarettes at once but he does it so well. everyone is so over the top and extreme it is a delight to watch and i didn’t know laura dern could be such a sweetheart. the plot felt very tarantino-esque but on like 12 different drugs. i was starting to get a little bored but out of nowhere a random willem dafoe waltzes in and i was hooked again up until he became a literal foe and an asshole. although the movie turns really bonkers towards the end it also turned into a drag but i shouldn’t really complain i can’t focus on anything. mr lynch will be glad to know that i didn’t watch this on my iphone i just hope he doesn’t send his snipers after me for using my laptop and not the TV.
