    Spike Lee knocks it out of the park Again! 

    I had a bit of an issue with the appearance of the characters during Vietnam flashbacks, given the war was some 50+ years ago and they still look the exact same way (although I’m not sure if it was intentional for some artistic purpose).

    Lee’s stylistic moments/montages might not work for some in general, and as much as I love them, I did find a few distracting and unnecessary.

    this is what I expected Swallow to be!

    didn’t really care too much for the more surreal/abstract parts, but the overall film kept me hooked till the very end.

    amazing performance from the lead actress (also director and screenwriter) Marina de Van, particularly in a role as physically and emotionally demanding as this. It’s clear this was a passion project for her.

    without a doubt THE most frustrating film I’ve ever experienced… in the best way.
    rather than getting frustrated and annoyed at the story/characters, you’re frustrated and annoyed with them every step of the way. 
    I find no flaw in this film at all, everything about it is amazing.

    This film is on its knees desperately begging to be taken seriously as some deep dark tale of a misunderstood man driven mad by society. From the amazing cinematography to the haunting score, it does everything to appear as such. This film asks you to peel back the layer it swears it has, only for you to find there’s nothing there.
