    Not for me.

    Dear Academy,
Please nominate Jamie Dornan for Best Supporting Actor… for his work in Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar.

To quote Spike Lee- “Not my cup of tea”

  • Encanto

    Encanto

    ★★½

Convinced that a bot listened to all of Lin Manuel Miranda’s music and composed this score. Everything about this movie is so depressingly on autopilot. Sure, Encanto dazzles the eye but where is the HEART?!

  • Ghostbusters: Afterlife

    Ghostbusters: Afterlife

    ★★½

It’s fine but the tone is way more akin to a Spielberg ripoff than the films Reitman Sr. did in the 80’s. Ghost Encounters of the Third Kind if you will.

  • The Many Saints of Newark

Fan service but make it 🤌

  • Cry Macho

    “He’s not a chicken. He’s Macho.”

I wish I knew how to quit you, Clint.

    Are they though?

  • Respect

    Respect

    ★★½

If you took a drink every time someone referred to Aretha’s alcoholism as “her demons”, you’d be drunker than J-Hud snot crying on the living room floor while hallucinating the presence of 6 time Tony Award Winner, Audra McDonald.

  • The Tomorrow War

    The Tomorrow War

    ★★½

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The way this goes from effective sci-fi action romp to shameless Alien/The Thing rip-off in the third act is truly wild.

  • The Son of Kong

    The Son of Kong

    ★★½

It’s VERY obvious that this was rushed to release. That said, Carl Denham is on leading man duty this time around so sign. me. up.

  • Pieces of a Woman

    Shia LaBeouf: *shows peen*
Me (channeling Valerie Cherish): I don’t want to see THAT.

Look, I did NOT find this to be the masterpiece some of y’all clearly think it is. Some solid acting but that screenplay was a whole ham dinner and what BBC period piece did they steal the score from?! Oh... and she is very good but can we please stop behaving as if Vanessa Kirby invented acting with THAT scene? Yalitza did it first and she did it better.

Molly Parker- MVP though. It needs to be said.

    We Can Be Heroes

    ★★½

Weird how the sequel to Sharkboy and Lavagirl isn’t even the most bonkers superhero movie Pedro Pascal was in this Christmas...
