    Love Story

Impossibly gorgeous but irritating MacGraw marries impossibly gorgeous but annoying O’Neal and they blandly whine about stuff for an hour before she dies.

Both characters are insufferable. Both performmaves are adequate.

    Avengers: Endgame

ENDGAME: This sombre & talky 90’s drama about an extended family in crisis, boasts an impressive cast of established indie regulars and promising newcomers who bring all their considerable talents to the screen. Some final act histrionics don’t mar an otherwise exemplary take on modern relationship dynamics.

Matt Bomer is dreamy. He’s also a really of actor and this film (Despite a final act wobble) is a delight.

My only real takeaway is that being Michael Jackson fan in 1986 is gonna fuck you up in later life - but that’s not news to anyone.

Otherwise not a fucking clue what that was all about???

Literally perfect. How Gloria lost the Oscar is beyond me. One of the greatest screen performances of all time.

  • Elizabeth

I’m shocked to say that this film really isn’t that good. Not what I’d remembered at all. Muddled plot with wild historical inaccuracies and moments of total camp. Cate is great of course but not 100% sure she’s still my Best Actress winner.

150 minutes of film with only 90 minutes of plot. Tedious in the extreme.

Having said that I could watch Ah-in Yoo’s lips all day 😍

  • Vice

A film with all the subtlety and finesse of a mating walrus, only not as funny.

  • Lizzie

Beautifully sparse, feminist reimagining of the oft told Lizzie Borden story with standout perfs from both Sevigny and Stewart.

Rather abrupt ending only marginally detracts from a fantatstic piece of work.

Couldn’t help wondering how Sandy kept her fillers topped up whilst stuck in a wooden shack for 5 years???

Beautiful shots, fascinating scenes and brilliant performances can’t quite compensate for the lack of strong narrative and unsatisfactory ending.
