American Woman is another entry into the "missing children' genre. You know the one, where a child disappears and the parent(s) go to extreme lengths to find them. Well, this is that and a bit more. It focuses mainly on the Mother (Sienna Miller) as she comes to terms with her daughters disappearance etc etc.. (not giving anything away). Sienna Miller is incredible in this movie and one of the best performances you'll see this year by far! There is a lot of psychological depth in this movie and it really fucks with your emotions from start to finish. I feel American Woman is a must-see, if not for its powerful observation but for Sienna's authentic yet emotional performance. 8.3/10.
