i like a lot of movies.
just saw this 25 year old movie for the first time. wowzers. does a fantastic job of playing on your imagination and making yourself swear you saw something that was never shown onscreen. i only knew this movie as the “what’s in the box?” movie and i’m glad to see how that fits into the story now. i like movies that make me think a lot and have me thinking about it several days after so it’s gonna have to be a new personal fav for me
This movie was Wes Anderson at his best. At this point, he was comfortable with his directing style and audiences became very familiar with what he was doing with his projects. What makes this movie stand out the most is how authentic and time appropriate it is, yet cartoonish, like something out of a children’s storybook. The Hateful Eight is one of the slowest and darkest Tarantino movies out there in his discography so far. This is a movie i would highly recommend, but that doesn’t mean it was one of my favorite Tarantino films.
