Robert Beksinski’s review published on Letterboxd:
My mother always told us kids (in jest of course) that no one would ever try to kidnap us and if they did that they would return us promptly because of how troublesome we were. It's hilarious to see that old saying (well I hope its a old saying and not just something my mother told me and my siblings, lol) come alive here in this early comedic short from Ozu because that is exactly what the plot is about. Before Ozu became a master of family drama later in his career, he showed great promise as a comedy director and really all of his films even his serious dramatic ones have hints of humor spread throughout. This was a very nice watch and worth the 14 minutes.
