Ok I don't know how much weight this holds coming from someone who's not very familiar with the Godzilla franchise, but this design was so cool, I loved it! I'm kinda split on all the beuracratic parts. on one hand I think it sorta works, but on the other I can see how it would make this too boring for some people. But I think it builds well with the tension of the first half, and the mid-point scene completly sold this for me.

Being John Malkovich 1999
Glad I went into this without knowing anything about it. way sillier than I thought it was going to be, kept thinking it was like a funnier/less depressing synecdoche ny and then I saw who wrote it lol. I like a movie that feels a little headass but also is just goofy :)

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas 1998
personally, i think this story is more enjoyable read than watched. It might have been a little much at times, and it defiantly could have been cut down. BUT it is a spectacle, and i feel like that holds true to Thompson's writing style. It's a hoot, and worth a watch

A Trip to the Moon 1902
I would have been a polite guest to the moon people and maybe would have brought them a nice stew or perhaps a pie 😌

Waiting for Guffman 1996
the rest of america would be a better place if we were half as nice as the people of blaine

Videodrome 1983
Was kind of out of it when I watched this and I probably didn't retain a lot, but I think that definitely added to the experience lol. Definitely liked what I do remember (any movie with nasty prosthetics is cool in my book) and will gladly be watching this again in the future :)

The Northman 2022
Man, this was so good. For me, this was a perfect film translation of ancient mythology without any bullshit. I'm not super familiar with Norse mythology, but I feel like this perfectly captures a feeling of wonder that most stories like that embody. Great production, acting, writing. I basically need to live in an icelandic hut now

Pacific Rim 2013
gotta respect how they somehow captured the feeling of a sorta cringy live action adaptation of an anime without being based on a specific thing, kudos
some cool robots and monsters but the stuff in between ranges from bland to annoying. only enjoyable performances were charlie day and ron pearlman i think. also, soundtrack sounded like music for a power tool commercial lol

The Ringmaster 2019
This feels so tasteless. Even with the 'spin the documentary' schtick, it just comes off as if they are trying to squeeze something monetary out of a completely failed project in a really half-assed way. On top of that, there's just some plain shitty filmaking; some of the over exposed takes were just garbage. No good, I feel bad for Larry
