Bea’s review published on Letterboxd:
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is easily the most beautiful film I have ever seen. Every scene is like a dazzling piece of poetry, each shot being a stunning painting. I can’t put it to words how hypnotic and entrancing this is. When going in, I knew it was going to be amazing but nothing could of prepared me for how amazing.
The performances are some of the best I’ve seen, the chemistry feels so real and I cannot fault any actor.
I don’t usually cry at films, sometimes I might get a lump in my throat but not to the point where tears come out of my eyes like they did here. It hit me so emotionally, every smile on screen was rewarded for one off screen. I watched it last night and cannot stop thinking about it.
This is the ultimate film of the decade, a must see. A journey of love that nobody else has quite mastered like Sciamma.
Absolutely incredible, on a whole other level of incredible.
