This was my most anticipated film of later 2022, and it didn’t disappoint at all. Far from it. I’m feeling so much right now and I’ll talk more when i get home and can articulate my words again…watch this space. (it’s updated now). This is the most I have deeply felt a film in a long time.

A really sweet story that is very deserving of its Oscar nomination. I will always be a fan of found family tropes, they’re just so important for children to see on screen!
The underwater scenes are a wonderful example of fantastic and skilled animation. Yes the story and message is familiar and ‘simple’ but who cares when it’s an important one?

I thought I would rewatch this before the oscars since it (deservedly) got 11 nominations. And I think it could easily win best picture. Ke Huy Quan surely will win best supporting actor too. Waymond is the best man ever.
An incredibly beautiful, emotional film that can resonate with everyone no matter the culture you belong to, and I think that’s why it’s so loved.
