I wish the story took itself more seriously in a realistic approach. There are plenty of moments, while comical, that just wouldnβt happen in real life. One example is the ending, but Iβll leave it there. Great performances and some funny bits.

Knives Out 2019
Loved, loved, loved this movie.
So much talent behind the cast and they all play up to their chracter so well. The screenplay by Rian Johnson is absolutely brilliant as there are so many twists and turns with the narrative.

The Good Liar 2019
I saw the twist coming a mile away, but the performances of Helen Mirren and Ian McKellen are what makes this movie salvageable.

Jojo Rabbit 2019
I thought this would be a satire from start to finish, but this film has a lot of heart. I cried a few times. Taika Waititi continues to be one my favorite directors working today (and he's plays a great Hitler).

Charlie's Angels 2019
Everyone will talk about Kristen Stewartβs performance, but wow, I adore Naomi Scott.Β
Iβve never seen the original Charlieβs Angels so I didnβt know what to expect, but it was light hearted and cheesy (intentionally I think). Some fun action sequences and strong direction from Ms. Elizabeth Banks.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil 2019
Out of all the Disney live action films this year (Dumbo, Lion King, Aladdin), I'd say this is probably the best out of the bunch - but that's not saying much.

The Lighthouse 2019
Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson are so great together. A lot of absurd moments throughout. LOVE how itβs shot in B&W and its aspect ratio.Β
Someone needs to explain the ending to me because Iβm a bit lost.

The Addams Family 2019
Yes, this movie has a lot of problems, but I was enjoying myself the whole time. The story is simple, but has a cute message at the end about accepting others. I don't get the hate for the 3D animation.
It's pretty unique. Nick Kroll as Uncle Lester had me dying.
