Field Niggas feels as if Allah was able to fully capture the prescience of a Gil Scott-Heron track with his lens. Harlem’s humanity, and the complexities contained within, are on full display. Beautiful, raw and black through and through. Not every image presented here is pleasing but, much like Harlem itself, well worth spending time with.
Initial D meets Jackie Chan...kinda.
Pretty middle of the road as far as Jackie flicks go. Probably some of the worst editing I’ve seen in any of his Hong Kong output along with some really weird faux slow motion thrown in that muddies up the fights.
Despite all that it still has a great fight where Jackie takes on a bunch of Yakuza at a pachinko parlor, which made the whole movie worth a watch. Also some of the early car chases are genuinely well done and really felt like a motorized version of Jackie’s hand to hand fights,
Half remember watching this through a static ridden HBO as a child, yet the scene of various inanimate objects having sex (exactly like it sounds) is forever seared into my brain. Probably the first time I realized cartoons aren’t only for kids and likely the source of a decades worth of weird thoughts concerning sex.
Scaramanga is just trying to live his best life while promoting solar power/pushing his craft forward and then Bond waltzes in karate chopping folks, smacking women and grabbing sumo asses. Easily the most kinky (not even good kinks) Bond. He deserves all the kink shaming in the world, what a fuckboi.
