The Vigil

The Vigil ★★½

I really loved the setup to The Vigil. I also really enjoyed the English to Yiddish dialogue. The first act nailed it. What a set up!
There really isn’t much for characters once the actual vigil begins. It was an interesting story, but it lacks in thrills and entertainment.
Let’s just pretend it’s your 10th birthday. Everyone sings to you the Happy Birthday song, and just before you blow out your candles you wish for toys. It’s the start for excitement, but then every present is clothes. There’s cake but no ice cream.
