  this film is what billy wilder does best as you can’t wait to see what happens next. gloria swanson as norma desmond, a dying star trying to get back in the picture and william holden as joe, the writer who is stuck in normas craziness. the soundtrack in this film is very beautiful and really does feel like the old movies. cinematography and dialogue just as great too. this is one of the best films of the 50s and one of the best films of all time
