The first 90 minutes are horrific. I felt like I was watching at 1.5x speed. No establishment of character or setting. Exposition dumps every 5 seconds.
I hated some of the story choices, and actually liked others a lot. I wish Abrams had directed all three. The pretty decent back third does not make up for how horrible the first 90 are BUT Ieft the theater pretty happy. That couldn't be said for TLJ. A perfect example of how, more often than not, the ending matters more than the beginning.
