    Inglourious Basterds

WOW WOW WOWW. i loved this so soo much more than i initially thought i was going to! normally with a runtime as long as this one i tend to space off, especially around the center of the second and third acts, but inglourious basterds had my undivided attention the entire time. i fully believe this film will get bumped up to five stars when i give it a rewatch. so incredibly captivating!!

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

easily the most joyous experience i’ve had in the theater thus far. i laughed, i cried, i smiled so damn hard my cheeks hurt… spider-man no way home was a ride. i have so many words. the return of all the villains was so much fun (love u willem dafoe), and seeing toby mcguire’s and andrew garfield’s spider-mans interact with tom holland’s was so cute, my childhood self was definitely beaming with joy. also, ned being able to create portals like dr. strange??? jaw on the floor.

  • The Piano

    The Piano

i’ve been longing to cross this off my watchlist recently, and after watching campion’s newest release the power of the dog earlier this week, i knew now was the time. to be frank, i enjoyed the piano more than campion’s newest film. perhaps this is because i’m a sucker for any film that has passion as a driving force, and well, the protagonist’s passion and love for piano is made blatantly clear. great performances in this, as well as beautiful cinematography, but practically all the male characters were extremely unlikeable in my opinion, so that brings the score down. nevertheless, a great watch and beautiful film!

  • The Power of the Dog

    The Power of the Dog

benedict cumberbatch deserves every appraisal that has come his way regarding this performance. you can't help but feel for the characters, especially so regarding those of dunst and cumberbatch. although i did find the power of the dog to be a bit slow in pace, i can't deny that campion created a mesmorizing, atmospheric western that will most likely be on my mind for days to come.
