The Grand Budapest Hotel

The Grand Budapest Hotel ★★★★★

It's perfectly framed. It has oodles of pastel colors. It's beautiful. It's self-aware. It's funny, suspenseful and thrilling. It's Wes Anderson.

I think it's safe to say that The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of those movies that is so beautifully directed with such care and intricacy, that every single shot could be a god damn modernized Van Gogh painting. I realized from start to finish that I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this for whatever reason. Wes Anderson is such a phenomenal director because you can actually see how much thought, work and artistry goes into his films. It seems as though each scene was perfectly hand crafted with absolutely Zero (pun intended) mistakes.

The setting, plot, countless cameos from A-list actors and all of the stellar performances shown here lets Anderson seamlessly and simultaneously heighten and polish his trademark style. Genius.

Also... Was that Lucas fucking Hedges?
