Bawled my eyes out. Any child of an immigrant will feel like they’re watching their life play out on screen. Immediately followed by an overwhelming urge to hug their mother and thank them for everything they’ve done for them. The most emotional experience I’ve had watching a movie in a very very long time.

Extremely well made. Beautifully shot and an amazing original score. Outstanding performances. Canadian cinema needs to follow suit, nostalgia isn’t enough, make a great movie too. I’ve never been so prompted to buy a movie, the second I can, I will. Highly recommend.

I’m just like Puss in Boots. I too order milk at establishments instead of coffee or alcohol, and my childhood best friend was also imprisoned.

Loved it but hey… let’s frame Hauser’s sexual relationship with the Maria Margarita a bit more negative huh? For sure a horrible thing that occurred.

This movie doesn’t scratch the surface of what was done to the Sikh people in 1984. The exclusion of mass rape and murder of women and children, along with the fact that the entire thing was orchestrated by the Indian government.

Much of what was done has been documented and is easy to find with your own minimal research. Search up Operation Blue Star and Operation Woodrose

Painfully dull, boring and cliche. I can enjoy a slow film or even a movie without a specific point. But this was just poorly executed. Predictable and dragged out, any scene that could potentially be good goes on for minutes longer than it should. Acting was poor, writing was worse, and the over-use of the same song made it feel like I was sitting in purgatory. The cinematography was clearly the best part of the movie, with some of the tracking shots being the only parts I actually enjoyed.
