    Rathnan Prapancha

Rathnan Prapancha is a road movie with a good message- bonds can be formed without sharing bloodlines and to value people when they're still around.
One of the few heartwarming changes in Indian movies in last few years is the humanization of trans community:)
Dhananjay does a decent job playing the central role Rathnakara but Umashree as the foul-mouthed mother steals the show.
However, the movie falls flat due to melodrama, bad editing leading to a longer run-time, unnecessary songs and cringe jokes, some bad dubbing.. etc which is fairly common in most commercial movies.

  • Benedetta

Scandalous stories on religion often circle around natural human desires VS rigid religious system. Yet another entertaining tale from this genre is Benedetta where a nun fights against the power structure using their god as a pawn.
This movie is provocative as expected and sheds light on Church's mental abuse that leads to sexual oppression. Though an engaging watch, the execution is a little disappointing coming from a director like Paul Verhoeven.
Charlotte Rampling and Virginie Efira killed it. Kudos for casting Jonathan Couzinie as hot Jesus😍

    Postmen in the Mountains

Postmen In The Mountains is a beautiful movie about father-son's awkward relationship getting stronger through simple conversations as they hike through rural China's mountain routes with breath-taking scenery and shows what it's like to stay away from family for long time through each family member's view.
The father accompanies his son's first tour with family dog(loyal companion and route expert) to teach him as much as he can about the postman job. Through their nostalgic conversations, little conflicts and witnessing…
