Call Me by Your Name

Call Me by Your Name ★★★★

but to feel nothing so as not to feel anything, what a waste

I was so torn watching this, I was getting closer to the end and didn’t really feel any real connection or emotion to what I was watching, like I thought I would. Then Michael Stuhlbarg delivered the best monologue since Emma Stone in Birdman and then I realised how much I actually loved this film. I didn’t care for Oliver at all, rather I found myself connecting with Elio and seeing how he develops as his own person and his relationships with the people around him especially his parents, which is why that conversation he had with his Dad moved me so much. I don’t really have much of an opinion on Timothée Chalamet and all I do know is that he gave a fantastic performance in this and those end credits will stay with me for a very long time.
