Rewatched today to start my research for the dissertation I’ll be writing on this when I go back to University at the end of this month. And my god am I excited to get knee deep in research and write 12000 words about this. Expect multiple rewatches in the coming year because I have a feeling this film is going to slowly start and mean a lot to me. I remember first watching this and just being absolutely blown away but the impact was definitely so much bigger on my second watch. And I’m so glad that happened because if I didn’t like it on the rewatch I’d be in trouble with my dissertation tutor. But thankfully it left me speechless and breathless all in one and I’m pleased to say I’ve added an extra star since my first watch. It made me emotional and it made the hairs on my arms stand up. The soundtrack, Hans Zimmer, could never ever disappointment. Just everything about this is so well thought out and perfectly executed, it’s almost hard to believe a film like this could be this good but then you take a moment and you remember who was behind this and of course it could, of course it could be THIS good.
