This movie is what it would be like if Max Fischer did an Off-Broadway production of Death Wish.
This movie starts out so badass and I loved every minute of it. The television scenes start to be a little too much after a while. Not that I disliked them, it just seemed like there were two film ideas here smashed into each other half way through. I'm also bummed about Craven not using Timothy Leary more as the TV evangelist. If this would have went down the cult of television worm hole ala Videodrome it would be one of the best movies.
This is the first time I've seen this film, but I've seen plenty of the scenes from the Nic Cage Loses His Shit video on youtube. I feel like the video slightly influenced my viewing of this film. Cage's performance is insane. I'm still not even sure if I like this because of Cage or the film itself.
