    Any film like this is going to be inherently somewhat exploitative, cheesy and politically impotent no matter how much the people who make it are actively trying to be the opposite of all of those things, but I appreciate what they were going for and more importantly I still appreciate being able to see such a different way of life up close.

    Beautifully shot and set, decent cast and acting, but painfully lame writing, comedy and politics—particularly reactionary politics at that, much to the polar contrary of all the reviews characterizing this movie as "left-wing."

    This writer/director is to Michael Haneke what Woody Allen is to Ingmar Bergman: a corny hack with good aesthetic taste. RIP to the hot model actress.

This movie makes Neil Breen look like Michael Haneke—and somehow apparently cost $120 million to make ($143 million in 2020 dollars!).
