Burning didn’t do it entirely for me. The acting is excellent and the direction is on-point but it never truly came together for me as a cohesive film in theme or being exemplary. Still, there’s a lot to admire here from the main trio’s performances and the astounding cinematography to the economic screenplay and aforementioned solid direction. I just don’t think it’s my type of film and that’s okay. Burning is definitely worth checking out once but I find it hard to imagine personally being more into it than just admiring the craft.
