It’s fitting that an encounter with a cosmic alien force would drive some to embrace a mysticism of the absurd and seek to empty themselves of, well, themselves in the pursuit of some kind of oneness with this force, although what’s more surprising is why the hell none of these people (the dutiful members of the Pontifax Institute) seem terrified by their supernatural discoveries, and why no one seems concerned about the name of that high school.
